Sasak Architecture | Design | Heritage — Celebrating Lombok's rich cultural legacy through sustainable tropical design.

Sasak Architecture

Lombok lies immediately east of Bali. Pile-built, bonnet-rice barns known as lumbung are the pride of Sasak vernacular architecture. The Mandalika Beach Resort & Residences Concept Design celebrates this iconic shape and cultural heritage.

Bamboo Architecture

Inspired by the Lombok International Bamboo Architecture Festival, our design incorporates bamboo — "almost forgotten in its potential as a local Indonesian material." The event was attended by over 300 architects from around the world.

Arts & Crafts

Lombok is known for its traditional weaving and fabrics, thriving pottery industry, and beautiful limestone carvings. The Concept Design incorporates the best of these handcrafts throughout the resort.
